Doremi Music
At Doremi Music, I teach piano from a developmental perspective first, then a technical one — because every student learns differently. My approach starts with understanding how each student learns best, then adapting lessons to help them grow not just musically, but personally.
I’ve been teaching music since 2017 and worked as a classroom teacher for six years. I host annual recitals that showcase both skill and growth. My journey with music began in my childhood community church in South Los Angeles, where I first discovered how powerful music can be in shaping confidence and connection.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Child Development, a Minor in Music Composition, and a Certificate in Youth Agency Administration — an educational foundation that allows me to blend artistry, psychology, and leadership into every lesson.
I founded Doremi Music after realizing that 15 minutes a day in a classroom wasn’t enough to truly connect with students or help them reach their potential. One-on-one lessons allow me to focus on character building, confidence, and creativity through music — areas that often extend far beyond the piano.
Music, to me, isn’t just an extracurricular activity — it’s an extension of self-expression. My mission is to end the cycle of stressful or uninspiring piano lessons and replace it with something joyful, modern, and meaningful.
Over the years, I’ve hosted recitals where students not only perform but also conquer personal challenges — moments that remind me why I do this work. My teaching style is engaging, patient, and chill, yet built on high expectations that empower students to rise to their best.
When I’m not teaching, I travel the world — often right after a recital — immersing myself in new musical and cultural experiences that influence the lessons I create for my students.
Doremi Music is continuously evolving. We’re now partnering with more nontraditional students and transforming our recitals into one-hour experiences filled with creativity and innovation. My vision is to one day open a chain of community hangout spaces for aspiring musicians and expand our reach nationwide.
This is fresh, new, and exciting — and I want every student to be part of that journey.
